Kim - a Tea Cosy Guardian

I met Kim in Melbourne last week.  She is a Tea Cosy Guardian and came to share her story.

.... no not about Roger but about another cosy all together.  But you'll have to wait to see and hear about that one......

But LOOK ! at Roger Rampant.

Isn't he stupendous!
I do love him.

and her blog is definitely worth a good long look at.   It is filled with beautiful beautiful classic knitting, and some family stuff too.

Noice.  Real noice.

Sydney, Exeter and Mittagong this week.

The Bloke's mum gave him this tea cosy when he left home 45 years ago.

He has never been washed.  He's been burnt on the stove and some woman or other tried to strangle him with red wool.  The Koala that is.

The tea cosy is one of the very few things The Bloke has belonging to his mum, now long gone to the great tea party in the sky, his mum that is.

The Bloke often says things his mum used to say like...

Hands up who wants a cuppa tea hands down too late
and...

What's for dinner tonight bread and duck under the table
and then he says...
my mum used to say that.

Come to Mittagong in the Southern Highlands of NSW this Thursday.  It is very close to Sydney.

Bring your tea cosy and tell your story.

Sturt Gallery

the Official Biggest Morning Tea Daffodil Cosy

One has been invited by those at the Cancer Council to take part in their annual Biggest Morning Tea.

One has created

The Official
Biggest Morning Tea Daffodil Cosy

It is important to be official, every now and then.  Not too often.  But definitely on this auspicious occasion.

Join in the Biggest Morning Tea fun and games and at the same time raise a few much needed pennies for research, prevention and support.

Or just make "Daffy" because she is so, so, well, she is so damn sunny!

See!

Wes loves Daffy too.

OK.  So do I.

Love Daffy

and

Enjoy being official
Or is that officious.

News Flash

One has learned how to properly create short URLs to Free Tea Cosies
and to..

BEBUs

That is Bloody Embarrassing Bugger Ups to you.

One hates that word "Errata".  Now see!  Why on earth would One give it a capital "E".

Why wouldn't One just say "Mistakes" or "Bugger Ups.

One is not one to say "Passed Away"  or "Passed Over".  One has always said "Died".  As in "Wes died today".

No no.  Wes did NOT die today, but if Wes were to meet his end, go off to the big cat tea party in the sky, kark it. One would simply say "Wes died today".

Wes is alive and well and guarding the Lady of Clay in Green Spotted Bikini.

So One is saying there are mistakes in the new book.
and the old book
and the older book.

and One is on bended knee in apologeticnessessing and hoping YOU will forgive One and .....

Enough!
You will find the CORRECTIONS at

Errata on the website.

Deconstructing the Reconstruction of a Tea Cosy

Spotted Gourd is allowed out for a little preview - soon to take the limelight in....

"How Tea Cosies Changed the World"

He is made of two berets shapes, each one knitted from the crown out and down and then in and in some more and in some more again and then out a little bit, finished with a rolled lip, turned upside down and folded in on itself to make a double thickness half.  The two halves are then stitched together along the crowns, now the base.  The rest is all smoke and mirrors and you'll have to BUY THE BOOK to find out all the numbers and tricks that make him sit up so grand.

One thinks this might be a first in tea cosy construction.  But then One could be wrong.

Here he is again, the same but different.

A tea cosy and pot stand all in one.

Blimey One is clever.
